Get back to full strength after an injury.

A workout gone wrong, a hard fall, a strain you played through — injuries have a way of lingering when they're only half-treated. The sooner we understand what's actually going on, the better we can help it heal and keep it from becoming the kind of pain you carry for years.

When an injury lingers

An injury doesn't always heal on its own.

You'd think rest would fix it — and sometimes it does. But plenty of injuries settle into something that hangs around: a tweaked back from lifting, a fall that jarred your neck, a sports strain you played through. What's left is a dull ache that flares with the wrong movement, stiffness that won't fully let go, a spot that just never came all the way back.

Often that's because the injury changed how your body moves and holds itself, and nothing ever addressed it directly. Massage and stretching can feel good in the moment without reaching what's underneath. We start by finding what actually got hurt — and what's kept it from healing.

Get to the real problem

A clear plan to get you all the way back.

No two injuries recover the same way. Here's the path we follow, step by step.

Assess

See what the injury did

Digital X-rays and INSiGHT scans show us what the injury affected — your alignment, your joints, and the nerves around them — so we're treating the actual problem, not just the sore spot.

Treat

Restore what it disrupted

Gentle, instrument-assisted adjustments with Torque Release Technique restore the motion and alignment the injury threw off — precise and low-force, so we're not aggravating tissue that's still healing.

Recover

Build back for the long game

From there, a recovery plan with staying power — adjustments, Shockwave Therapy for injured soft tissue, and movement guidance — aimed at full recovery, not just enough relief to push through.

What our patients say

Trusted by Waco for years.

"I injured myself several years ago during a workout. I had pain in my hip and leg for about two years. I tried regular massages and stretching, which temporarily gave me relief, but did not heal my injury. Dr Andrew began treating me regularly three or four years ago and I have not had pain since those beginning appointments. He often helps me think about setting goals and offers to pray when needed. I have experienced a major positive difference in my mobility since becoming a patient at Landmark."
Heidi Reinke Patient · 3+ years at Landmark
"I've been going to Landmark for over a year now! I walked in with decade old sports injuries in my upper and lower vertebrae's… Since receiving care consistently the biggest area to note is how my body responds and recovers from injuries… I am surprised at how I can feel my body adapting throughout the week. Dr Andrew listens so well, invites you to share your story and collaborates with you of where to target adjustments for optimal care."
Anna Joy Burgess Patient · 1+ year at Landmark
"Came in hurting. One month later I have no pain. I was skeptical, but Dr Andrew and staff are amazing. They are thorough, professional, and an expert in their area of care. Please don't wait any longer for the care you need. Get help now. It is life changing."

Your first visit

Here's what day one looks like.

No surprises, no pressure. Here's how your first visit unfolds — and why we don't rush it.

Step 01

Real conversation

A full health history — how the injury happened, what's hurt since, what makes it better or worse, and what you want to get back to. We listen first. No script, no rush.

Step 02

Thorough evaluation

A structural and nervous-system exam with our INSiGHT scan, plus digital X-rays when appropriate — so we find the real source of your pain, not just where it hurts.

Step 03

Report & plan

We sit down and walk through what we found in plain language, then build a care plan around your goals — the next step is always yours.

An honest note

Day 1 is the evaluation — not the adjustment. Plan for about an hour. Any care begins at a follow-up, once you've seen the findings and decided what's right for you.

Common questions

Injury questions, answered.

Can chiropractic help an injury that happened a while ago?

Often, yes. Injuries that never fully settled — even ones from years ago — frequently still have something physical behind them: restricted motion, lingering irritation, or the way you started compensating to protect it. After a careful evaluation, we'll be honest about whether we think we can help yours and what that would involve.

I'm a little sore but I think I'm fine. Should I still get checked?

It's worth it. Some injuries feel minor at first and stiffen up or flare days later; others quietly change how you move. A quick evaluation tells you whether there's something to address now — which is far easier than chasing it months down the road. (If your injury was from a car accident, see our car accident injuries page, where timing matters even more.)

What if my injury involves an insurance claim or an attorney?

We can work with that. We document our findings and your care thoroughly, and we're glad to coordinate with your attorney or insurer when there's a claim involved. Just let us know at your first visit so we can set things up correctly from the start.

Will the adjustment hurt if I'm already injured?

We're careful with injured bodies. Torque Release Technique is gentle and low-force — delivered with a small instrument, not a forceful twist — and we adjust the plan to what your body can handle as it heals. If something isn't appropriate to adjust yet, we won't. More about the technique.

Do you take my insurance?

We accept BCBS, Medicare, and United Healthcare, and we offer cash-pay and care plans too. Not sure whether you're covered? Call us at (254) 265-7007 and we'll check before your visit.

Do I need a referral to come in?

No referral needed — you can book directly. Just complete your new patient paperwork ahead of time and bring your ID and insurance card.

Will I have to keep coming in forever?

No. After your first visit we'll recommend a plan based on what we find and what you want to achieve — and the decision is always yours. Some people come in to get out of pain and feel like themselves again; others choose to keep up with care to stay that way. There's never any pressure.
