Pinched Nerve Relief · Waco, TX

A pinched nerve doesn't have to run your day.

Numbness, tingling, a burning or electric pain, maybe a hand or arm that feels weak — a pinched nerve has a way of getting your attention. It happens when a nerve is compressed or irritated, often in the neck or spine. The good news: once we find where, there's usually something we can do about it.

When a nerve gets pinched

You feel it everywhere the nerve goes.

A pinched nerve rarely stays in one spot. Compress or irritate it, and the signal travels — numbness or tingling down your arm, a burning line into your hand, fingers that fall asleep, a grip that isn't as sure as it used to be. It's the kind of thing that makes you wonder if something is seriously wrong.

Most of the time, it's a nerve being crowded somewhere along its path — often in the neck or upper spine — rather than damage to the nerve itself. That distinction matters: a crowded nerve is something we can look for and work to relieve. Finding where it's happening is the first thing we do.

Answers first

First, we find where the nerve is pinched.

Numbness and tingling can start in more than one place along the spine. A careful look tells us which one is behind yours.

Find it

Locate the compression

Digital X-rays show the alignment of your spine — especially the neck, where the nerves to your arms and hands branch off — and our INSiGHT scans measure how those nerves are functioning. We find the source instead of guessing at it.

Free it

Take the pressure off

Gentle, instrument-assisted adjustments with Torque Release Technique work to take pressure off the irritated nerve — low-force and precise, never a forceful crank, which matters when a nerve is already inflamed.

Calm

Keep it from flaring back

From there, a plan to settle the nerve and keep it calm — adjustments, Shockwave Therapy for the tight muscles that can clamp down on a nerve, and movement guidance — aimed at relief that lasts, not just a break from the tingling.

What our patients say

Trusted by Waco for years.

"I was skeptical at first due to the fact I have been used to the old school chiropractors who crack my whole body at once. However, Dr. Andrew uses the proper methods I was not used to… Before I could not stand for a long period of time, I suffered from back, neck and hip pain severely. I also used to have sharp nerve pain… Since seeing Dr. Andrew for the past 4 months… I am able to do so much with my toddler now without being in pain. I sleep so soundly with no more nerve pain. I'm even more limber. My skepticism is gone."

"Dr. Andrew has truly helped me get back to working out like I used to. My sciatic nerve pain when I first started with him was so painful. It has gotten so much better, where I'm not in pain all the time like I used to be. The ladies that work there are so sweet every single time that I have visited for my appointments. Thank you for a great experience with my first time seeing a chiropractor."
Tisha Williams Patient at Landmark
"I had very bad neck and shoulder pain. I'm three months into my adjustment plan and healing process, and I have to say the pain in my neck and shoulders is more than manageable. I can't be more pleased with the progress so far. And Dr. Andrew and the staff are wonderful, helpful and caring people."

Your first visit

Here's what day one looks like.

No surprises, no pressure. Here's how your first visit unfolds — and why we don't rush it.

Step 01

Real conversation

A full health history — when the symptoms started, where the numbness or tingling travels, what makes it better or worse, and what you want to get back to. We listen first. No script, no rush.

Step 02

Thorough evaluation

A structural and nervous-system exam with our INSiGHT scan, plus digital X-rays when appropriate — so we find the real source of your pain, not just where it hurts.

Step 03

Report & plan

We sit down and walk through what we found in plain language, then build a care plan around your goals — the next step is always yours.

An honest note

Day 1 is the evaluation — not the adjustment. Plan for about an hour. Any care begins at a follow-up, once you've seen the findings and decided what's right for you.

Common questions

Pinched nerve questions, answered.

Can chiropractic help a pinched nerve?

For many people, yes — a pinched nerve is often a nerve being compressed by a joint or a muscle, and gentle chiropractic care focused on relieving that pressure is frequently a good fit. After a thorough evaluation, we'll be honest about whether we think we can help and what that would involve.

Is the numbness or tingling a sign of nerve damage?

Often it's irritation rather than damage — a nerve being crowded, not destroyed — which tends to ease once the pressure is relieved. That said, numbness or weakness that lingers is worth taking seriously, so we evaluate carefully. If we see signs that point to a different kind of care, we'll tell you and help you find it.

Is a pinched nerve the same as sciatica or a herniated disc?

They're related. Sciatica is a pinched nerve in the lower back that travels down the leg, and a herniated disc is one thing that can do the pinching. "Pinched nerve" is the broader term for a compressed or irritated nerve anywhere along the spine. Your evaluation sorts out which is which.

Will the adjustment hurt if my nerve is already irritated?

We understand the worry — an irritated nerve is sensitive. Torque Release Technique is gentle and low-force, delivered with a small instrument rather than a forceful twist, and we adjust the plan to how your body is responding. Most people find it far gentler than they expected. More about the technique.

Do you take my insurance?

We accept BCBS, Medicare, and United Healthcare, and we offer cash-pay and care plans too. Not sure whether you're covered? Call us at (254) 265-7007 and we'll check before your visit.

Do I need a referral to come in?

No referral needed — you can book directly. Just complete your new patient paperwork ahead of time and bring your ID and insurance card.

Will I have to keep coming in forever?

No. After your first visit we'll recommend a plan based on what we find and what you want to achieve — and the decision is always yours. Some people come in to get out of pain and feel like themselves again; others choose to keep up with care to stay that way. There's never any pressure.
